每一次变化都是学校发展的宝贵机会,我们相信新任校长马德玲女士将继续带领朝阳凯文创造新的辉煌。马校长深耕教育行业二十七年,积累了丰富的教育教学的管理经验。2018年,马校长加入海淀凯文学校。五年里,她带领团队在海淀凯文成功打造了高品质的课程与教学,成就了近百名学子升入英美的一流海外名校。马校有近10年成功管理首师大国际部的经验,在她的领导和团队的共同努力下,该国际部每年所有学生被美国和加拿大优质名校录取。

教育是奠定每个孩子一生的底色
当问及为何这么稳定地服务一所学校22年时,马校长莞尔一笑:“一切都水到渠成。”出身在一个教育世家,在父母的言传身教下,马校长毕业后进入首师大附中工作。百年老校的文化底蕴深厚、教师敬业爱岗、学生积极向上……在优质公立学校的工作经历让马校长体验到了好学校对教育教学严谨、执着的工作态度。
出于对国际教育的浓厚兴趣,马校长于2009年开始管理学校与美国一所有着260年历史的私立学校(捷门堂学校)的课程合作项目,并赴美到该校工作。“这所美国优质私立名校当时在课程建设和升学指导方面给予了我们深入指导。“关注学生一生发展”的教育理念让我们在做教育过程中既关注申请结果,更重视学生在学习和申请过程中综合素质能力的培养。这些是学生未来大学生活、工作和人生中必不可少的能力。经过团队的努力,中美合作项目的升学硕果累累,尤其是孩子们在学习过程中能力得到充分锻炼,这为今后大学带来的挑战做好了充分准备。作为教师,我们收获一种纯粹的满足和骄傲。”
在马校长的眼里,教师的价值在于成就孩子的一生,她对朝阳凯文的“根深路远”的理念尤其深有感悟,因为根深,所以路远,这个根不只是中国的身份认同,更是奠定孩子一生的教育基石。在整个采访中,马校长始终保持着微笑。马校长的和善与坚定,为教育注入了温暖。这种温暖,不仅仅发生在课堂上,更在每个学生的心里和人生里。

2018年,马校长加入海淀凯文。经过5年教育实践和沉淀,海淀凯文的教学和升学成果同样骄人。对此,马校长总是谦虚地将功劳归功于自己的幸运——她总在每个工作的地方遇到一群志同道合、敢于拼搏和追求卓越的团队。如今,从海淀凯文到朝阳凯文,马校长将此形容为“我只是从凯文的西屋搬到了东屋,因为我们属于一个家庭,凯文教育集团,都是在努力追求卓越的、根深路远、中国自信的国际教育。”
在过去的27年教育生涯里,马校长常年笔耕不辍,在各级期刊上发表若干论文和著作。马校将课堂中和团队建设中提炼出问题,并对现有实践做优化总结,聚焦创新教学、激发学生内驱力、培养学生创造思维,最终应用在课堂和团队管理中,惠及更多的学生。对此,马校长认为这是一种习惯使然,是对卓越追求的使命感使然。
“让每个学生乐学、活学和多学应该是每个教育者的追求。让每个学生乐学的前提是老师精心的教学设计,以项目驱动、跨学科重构、就具体问题进行深入探究……授课方式上,我们需要借鉴和融合西方教育的精髓,让我们的课堂更有活力,激发学生更多的学习兴趣和创意。同学们在知识应用过程中看到学习带来的满足感和意义感,会不断强化活学和多学的动力。”
马校长深知民办学校生源的差异化和多元化,因此,特别注重践行个性而多元的课程,确保高品质的学习和成长。她提到“我们要给孩子个性化的关注,在课程的设置上搭建更多层次和梯度,使学生在课程的学习上不仅仅着眼眼前,而是将整个学段的学习做整体规划,课程难易程度由浅入深,层层递进。课程难度视学生能力而定,遵循学生学术发展的“最近发展区”,让每个学生都能学有所得、学有所长。”

在马校长身上,我们能看到很多标签。从⾸都师范⼤学外语学院特聘导师,到美国国际学校认证组织Cognia认证专员,从北京市骨干教师,到海淀学科带头人。马校长对这些勋章都淡而处之,笑道:“这只是过往努力的证明而已。”事实上,功勋满贯储蓄着马校长带领朝阳凯文进一步发展的力量。
作为朝阳凯文新任“掌舵人”,朝阳凯文下一步将如何发展,在文化、课程、师资等方面如何升级,马校长也是信心满满。
“毫无疑问,学生必须是学校和家庭‘永远的焦点’。”马校长坦言,未来理想的学校教育应该是遵循学生成长特点,创设充满活力的学习环境,满足学生个人发展需求,培养创造力、批判性思维和合作精神的伊甸园;教师应在日常教学和不同的学习环境中鼓励思考、探索和创新,重视学生学术成长的同时更要重视学生的情绪管理能力以及面对未知时的勇气和面对挑战时的坚毅。换而言之,学校的使命就是要赋予学生基本知识和技能,能够应对未来挑战的综合素质以及能够面对未知环境的人格品质。
携手家长共同聚焦孩子的成长亦是马校教育中的重要的一部分。她愿意认真倾听家长的声音,积极与家长交流在养育孩子过程中遇到的困惑,通过一些讲座和互动对话不断影响家长的教育观,给孩子一个宽松的成长环境。马校长也非常同意徐校长所倡导的家长要具有“成长型”思维的观点,她非常期待和各位家长代表以及整个社区有更多的关于家庭教育的分享。

In the 2190 days in the past six years that have witnessed the growth of Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy, nearly a thousand students have moved through our school.
The 95 students from the four cohorts of graduates have proved the success of CKWA’s diversified educational philosophy by receiving letters of offer from some of the world’s top school!
From 2019 to 2023, under the leadership of Ms. Christine Xu, Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy was ranked one of the top-tier newly established international private school in Beijing. The growing reputation and graduation results of Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy has attracted many parents to recognize and choose this school, which helped, even under pandemic conditions for CKWA to grow year on year. In the past four years, Principal Xu’s excellent leadership, her professional management of teaching and education as well as the shaping of the community culture has won the trust and respect of CKWA students, teachers, and families. At the end of 2022-23 academic year, Ms. Christine Xu will end her four-year career at Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy and embark on a new journey in the international education field. While we appreciate the great contribution made by Ms. Christine Xu to the development of the school, we are honored to announce the appointment of Ms. Madeleine Ma as the new principal of Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy starting from August 2023.
Every change is a precious opportunity for the development of the school. We believe that Ms. Madeleine Ma, the new principal, will continue to lead Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy to new heights. Engaged in the educational field for 27 years, Ms. Madeleine Ma has accumulated rich managerial experience in teaching and learning. Ms. Ma joined Haidian Kaiwen Academy in 2018. For the past five years, she has led the team at Haidian Kaiwen Academy, creating a quality curriculum and developing their teaching and learning. In addition, she has assisted hundreds of students with successful applications to first-class international universities. Ms. Ma has nearly 10 years’ experience in managing the international section of Capital Normal University High School. Under the joint efforts of her leadership and her team, each year all students from the international division of the school were admitted to top universities in the US and Canada every.

Education is the
underpainting of every child’s life.
When asked why she has been serving a school so steadily for 22 years, Principal Ma smiled and said, “Everything came naturally.” Born into an educational family, under the guidance of her parents’ words and deeds, Principal Ma graduated and entered the Capital Normal University High School first as a teacher. The century old school has a profound cultural heritage, dedicated teachers, and positive students. Principal Ma’s work experience in high-quality public schools gives her the experience of the rigorous and persistent work attitude of good schools towards education and teaching.
“Although the curriculum standards are similar every year, I am persistent in updating my lesson plans. I hope to provide students with a refreshing class and give them a different feeling. I enjoy interacting with students, and I care about the feeling of learning together with them.” Principal Ma shared that she was only 8 or 9 years older than her first batch of high school students when she was teaching them. Now, 27 years have passed, and former teachers and students have become good friends, maintaining frequent interaction. YUE Yang, one of the first of Principal Ma’s graduates, expressed his gratitude to her in 2021, saying that “what you cultivated was our interest in language. It was you who showed us that English is not an exam, but a key to opening the door to a new world.” This statement moved Principal Ma and made her deeply understand the significance of teacher education: “Every effort that teachers invest in students will become a light that illuminates their progress and paves the way for their growth.”
During her tenure as a teacher in the Capital Normal University High School, Principal Ma had the experience of participating in multiple district level teaching competitions and with expert advice created high-quality classrooms, which gave her a deeper understanding of class management and efficient classes. If the first twelve years of her career have endowed Principal Ma with a solid educational background and teaching abilities, then the experience of successfully managing the international division in the following ten years has honed Principal Ma’s ability to efficiently manage education.
Due to her strong interest in international education, Principal Ma began managing a curriculum cooperative project with a 260-year-old private school in the United States (Germantown Academy) in 2009 and went to the United States to work at the school. This high-quality private school in the United States provided her with in-depth guidance in curriculum construction and university counseling. The educational philosophy of “focusing on students’ lifelong development” allowed her to focus not only on application results but also on the cultivation of students’ comprehensive learning and the quality of the application processes. These are essential abilities for students’ future life in universities and work. Through the efforts of the team, the Sino-US cooperative project has achieved fruitful results in further education, especially for the children who have fully developed their abilities during the learning process, which has prepared them well for the challenges at universities in the future. As teachers, we are fulfilled with a sense of satisfaction and pride.”
In the eyes of Principal Ma, the value of a teacher lies in the achievement of a child’s life. She has a deep understanding of Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy’s concept of “to be a school deeply rooted in China yet building an international education which prepares pupils for a global future”. Because of its deep roots, the journey is long. This root is not only about the recognition of Chinese identity, but also the educational foundation for a child’s life. Throughout the interview, Principal Ma kept smiling. Principal Ma’s kindness and determination have injected warmth into education. This warmth not only occurs in the classroom, but also in the hearts and lives of every student.
The dynamics of class makes children learn joyfully, flexibly, and extensively
In 2018, Principal Ma joined Haidian Kaiwen Academy. After 5 years of educational practice and accumulation, the teaching and learning, as well as academic achievements at HKWA are very impressive. In this regard, Principal Ma always humbly attributes the credit to her own luck. She says she has always encountered a group of like-minded, hardworking, and outstanding teams in every workplace. Nowadays, from Haidian Kaiwen Academy to Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy, Principal Ma describes this as “I just moved from the West House to the East House because we belong to one family, Kaiwen Education Group. We both strive for excellence, pursuing international education deeply rooted in China.”
In a career spanning 27 years, Principal Ma has been diligent in writing and has published several papers and works in various journals. Principal Ma will extract problems from classes, build teams, optimize, and summarize existing practices, focus on innovative teaching, stimulate students’ internal drive, cultivate students’ creative thinking, and ultimately apply these strategies in classroom and at team management level, to benefit all students. Principal Ma believes that this is due to the habit and a sense of mission towards excellence.
Make every student learn joyfully, flexibly, and extensively should be the pursuit of every educator. The premise of making every student learn joyfully is the teacher’s meticulous teaching design, project-driven, interdisciplinary restructure, and in-depth exploration of specific problems… In terms of teaching methods, we need to learn from and integrate the essence of western education, make our classroom more dynamic, and stimulate students’ interest and creativity in learning. Students can feel satisfaction and get a sense of fulfillment in the process of knowledge application, which will continuously strengthen the motivation to learn more flexibly and extensively.
Principal Ma is well aware of the differences and diversity of students in private schools, and therefore places special emphasis on practicing personalized and diverse courses to ensure high-quality learning and growth. She mentioned that “we need to give children personalized attention and build up more levels in the curriculum design, so that students not only focus on the immediate learning, but also plan the entire learning stage. The difficulty of the curriculum increases layer by layer from shallow to deep, depending on students’ abilities and follows the zone of proximal development, so that every student can learn and excel.
The key to achieving success in learning is an attentive management system. A reasonable management framework, detailed management processes, and in-depth management methods will all help students develop personalized skills. We need to create an academic atmosphere that makes excellence a habit. Encourage students to develop habits of independent learning and management with careful help of teachers, gradually tapping into their own potential, and achieving breakthroughs.

Looking at Principal Ma, we can see many labels. From the visiting tutor of Foreign Language School of Capital Normal University to the certified commissioner of Cognia, from the backbone teachers in Beijing to the subject leader of Haidian District, Principal Ma ignored these medals and smiled, “This is just proof of past efforts.” In fact, the Merit Slam embodies the strength of Principal Ma to lead Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy for further development.
Principal Ma is candid. “The sustainable development of an excellent school lies in solid curriculum construction and high-quality teaching level, and its core lies in cultivating an excellent teaching team. I also firmly believe that first-class teachers can bring out first-class students and support first-class prestigious schools. Therefore, it is crucial to select excellent teachers, ensure the entry level of teachers, and carefully build various platforms and opportunities for teachers’ growth. I am willing to be the fulcrum which supports the first-class teachers in the school. In the new academic year, I will be committed to supporting the professional growth of teachers and jointly creating a positive and cooperative work environment. Here we can motivate each other and become our best selves.”
Although she has been engaged in education for 27 years and is a veteran of international education, Principal Ma always maintains a humble temperament. She always believes that she is a newcomer and constantly learns the best teaching and management experience through communication with her peers. In 2019, after Haidian Kaiwen Academy were authorized by Cognia, the school’s leadership and management mechanism, curriculum teaching, and support resources were comprehensively sorted and optimized. A high-quality international certification gave the school a great deal of recognition, but also put forward reasonable improvement suggestions, which took the overall quality of the school to a new level. Afterwards, I joined the Cognia International Certification Group and participated in the certification of five schools, domestically and internationally. During this process, I’ve learned their strengths and thought about how to apply them. I believe my experience will also help Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy grow together.”

“There is no doubt that students must be the ‘eternal focus’ of schools and families.” Principal Ma admitted that the ideal school education in the future should follow the characteristics of students’ growth, create a dynamic learning environment, meet the needs of students’ personal development, and cultivate creativity, critical thinking, and the spirit of cooperation. Teachers should encourage thinking, exploration, and innovation in daily teaching and different learning environments. While emphasizing students’ academic growth, they should also value their emotional management abilities, as well as their courage in facing the unknown and perseverance in facing challenges. In other words, the mission of schools is to endow students with basic knowledge and skills, comprehensive qualities that can cope with future challenges, and personality traits that can face unknown environments.
Joining hands with parents to focus on their children’s growth is also an important part of Principal Ma’s education philosophy. She is willing to listen carefully to the voices of parents, actively communicate with them about the difficulties they encounter in raising their children, and continuously influence their educational views through lectures and interactive dialogues, providing a relaxed environment for their growth. Principal Ma also strongly agrees with Principal Xu’s advocacy that parents should have a growth-oriented mindset.
