Drawing the essence from both Chinese and Western education, Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy Lower Secondary School curriculum rigorously connects with the primary school curriculum. While following Chinese National Curriculum standards, it refers to and draws lessons from Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) in English, humanities, art and other disciplines, and integrates the educational concepts of the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), so that students can master the necessary basic knowledge and skills in Lower Secondary School and ensure the transition between mother tongue and English, laying a solid foundation to enter upper secondary school.
At CKWA, we believe that students’ learning should extend beyond the regular curriculum. The school provides rich and diverse activities for secondary school students every semester. Students can choose to engage in the enrichment courses they are interested in and broaden their knowledge and skills.

CKWA has comprehensive and professional academic management platforms, such as Power School and Managebac, that not only ensure the quality of instruction, but also help administrators, students, and even parents track and support the progress of individual students.
Individualized Support

We recognize that each student is unique, joining our community from a variety of educational backgrounds and learning and growing at different paces. As a result, Sunrise Kevin helps us to more methodically and authentically guide and support each student's individual academic progress and growth through a targeted learning approach, differentiated instruction, and specialized assessment tools (e.g., Cambridge Progress Tests/Performance Tests).
Comprehensive English Programme

In addition to the English language requirements of the Chinese National Curriculum and the Cambridge International Curriculum, CKWA will enhance students' skills and confidence in reading, writing and oral expression in English through the following: Speech Program, Rexroth Reading Program, Literature and Writing, and English Assessment.
Targeted Learning

The primary language of instruction used in most classes at CKWA is English. When explanations or precision are necessary, teachers supplement the lessons with Chinese. Students are encouraged to use English in their learning, and this "applied linguistics" approach provides students with the opportunity to improve their English language skills.
