Principal’s Weekly Message 2020-8-21

Friday Aug 21st , 2020

Dear parents,
Hope this letter finds you and your family well!

The past week has been a busy week. ELT and the curriculum coordinators have been working on different plans for school opening. On Tuesday, we confirmed with you the school opening date and arrangements. On Thursday, in the live broadcast “Going through the crisis together, helping each other in the cause of education”, we once again shared with you the new academic year development, the improvement on academics, the online teaching plan in case of epidemics, the return of international teachers and internal cover plan, as well as the epidemics prevention work for school opening. In order to help you get access to this information conveniently, we have attached the educational brochure in the same name as the lecture with this week’s letter for your reference.
Today, Friday August 21st, is the deadline for you to confirm with the school about the reenrolment. Thursday was the deadline for school withdrawal.
The preparation work for school opening involves a lot of details, from class grouping and scheduling, to school bus and meals, from the preparation of classroom resources to the establishment of class group. Teachers need to get familiar with the situation of every kid in their class and start to communicate with you.
The preparation work of primary and secondary cafeteria is carried out in an orderly manner. Given the previous experience, cafeteria colleagues can guide students to eat orderly under the condition of ensuring students’ safe distance. At the entrance of primary and secondary cafeteria, there are school nurses on duty to help take the body temperature; the staff will guide students to wash their hands by using hands-free handwash sanitizer; Multiple meal lines are used to pick up meals to avoid crowd congestion; Disposable tableware is adopted; Designated seats are posted in advance to strictly follow the social distancing principles. The weekly menu of the school will be posted on the official website in advance. You can click the following link to view it: http://cy.kaiwenacademy.cn/meal/

If you confirm that you will return the school in time, according to the requirements of the education bureau, all returning students should report the travel plan and daily health record of the 14 days before the school starts. Based on the school opening dates, G2/3/4 should start to take record from August 24th, and the rest of the grade levels should start to take record from August 15th. Please check and fill in the attached form and bring this form with you on the school report day.  To support parents in the communication with the school before the semester starts, please check the attached “communication guide” for your reference.

To support our families and children to smoothly restart the school life, make physical and mental adjustment well, and better get adapted to the regular school life and understand the school life during the epidemics, our primary and secondary psychological counselors Teacher Niu and Teacher Li will meet with you online at 10am next Thursday, August 27th. The topic of this session is “Lesson One——A Guide for Parents”.

Kind Reminder: Families and students who have not tested the Teams learning platform, please do finish test before the school starts. (Please check the past WeChat public announcement to get the test guide).

Every new start gives us a thrill. It connects both the past and the future. We look forward to unveiling the new academic year with our children!
