也是一种家文化的表达。


01

一场特别的活动-凯文家书


家书是联结亲人情感的桥梁。从“尺素如残血,结成双鲤鱼”到“烽火连三月,家书抵万金”。源远流长几千年的写信传统,却在几年来渐行渐远,慢慢地走出了人们的视线。


为了让同学们静下心来重温读信的时代,在书信中穿越时空去仔细品味那种似曾相识的细腻情感,感受“根”的力量与情怀,学校于2月份策划了一场凯文家书创作及朗诵活动。随着春节临近,北京疫情突发。为防止人员聚集,小学部将这场凯文家书的创作及朗诵活动,变成了孩子寒假中的功课。


同学们通过一封信的形式,写下对父母、对长辈、对国家想说的话,家长们也可以写给孩子,每个家庭成员都能参与其中。作品呈交后,由徐涛校长、小学中方协调员老师、小学各年级中方教研组长及小学中方教师团队组成的“专家评审团”对作品进行现场评分,最终评选出获奖名单,并在本周小学集会上为获奖的同学们进行了颁奖。


在此,热烈祝贺获奖的同学们,以及小学中方语文教师团队!


家书包含着浓浓的情谊,同时也凝聚了做人、处事的智慧。每一段优美的文字,每一段真挚的情感,通过家书传递着家国情怀、美美与共。每一封家信是铭刻在心中的坚守,字字含情,句句用心

奖励只是认可,而在奖励的背后,同学们通过学习家书这种古老的书写方式,更是承载了对于根文化的学习。

语文不仅是语言的学习,更是一种身份的认同

 


你理解的语文学习是怎样的?认识几个字,学习几个成语,还是背诵一首古诗?


在朝阳凯文,优秀的语文学习并不仅仅是遣词造句这么简单,更重要的是用文字去传递感情,去增强身份的认同感。


在这次的凯文家书活动中,孩子通过书写的形式直抒胸臆,系紧自己和祖国之间的纽带。


4年级获得一等奖的王靖宇父亲,在给孩子写的家书中写道,“今日之责任,不在他人,而全在我少年。少年智则国智,少年强则国强”,鼓励孩子只有努力学习,才能使国家进步。


5年级的Lisa同学,她在写给父母的信中,提及每天听父母讨论疫情,自己也会深深地会担心,并感谢一线工作人员守护每个人的平安和健康。稚嫩的文笔坚定的写下祖国一定会赶跑病毒的信念。

孩子的未来该有更多的可能性,成功的定义也该更开放、更多元。朝阳凯文并没有一味打国际化的牌,而是除了具体知识的教授,更重要的是加强母语教育和根文化,培养学生们的批判性思维能力、创造力、审美力、跨学科能力和解决实际问题等能力。只有在这样的学习中,学生们才能拥有为未知而学的自主性和责任感,进行有远见、有意义的探索与努力。


学习知识不是目的,而是在学习中,共建自己的共情力。这种共情力,包括对祖国和个人身份的深深认同感,也包括和父母之前的理解与沟通。

 

03

朝阳凯文:一所致力于父母成长的学校


“亲爱的姥姥,您家离我家只有40分钟的车距,为什么要让我给您家书呢?我想,因为写家书是很有意义的事情,通过书写的方式,比视频和语音更有力量”。4年级的Mary在家书中写道,她在家书中嘱咐姥姥不要去人多的地方,祝姥姥身体健康,这是她平时在对话中从来没有和姥姥说过的话。


获得一等奖的王靖宇同学父亲,也写了一封长长的信给孩子。他说上次带孩子去参加四天三夜的戈壁挑战活动,孩子在脚崴了的情况下,仍然忍痛坚持走了10多公里,还因为落后急得直哭。靖宇爸爸在信中写道“孩子,你的成熟和长大不是一蹴而就的,看着你小小的身影在四天的时间里坚持走完了88.8公里,爸爸为你自豪。你以后的路还很长很长,只要你心中有目标和理想,就一定成为一个对社会有用的人”。


无论是孩子或者家长,凯文家书的活动,提供给了他们一个沟通的平台,说出了彼此在面前没有说出的话。


对于朝阳凯文来说,我们视家长为学校的战略合作伙伴。我们家校的目标是一致的,都在共同支持孩子们的成长。所以,我们鼓励家长积极应对挑战,成为成长型的家长”,徐涛校长表示,“学校和家长之间的关系是合作的,是彼此支持的,是互相成就的。家长和家庭是学校最为重要的战略伙伴,因为我们有同样的目标:致力于孩子的成长,致力于孩子一生的幸福。


在2019年徐校长加入朝阳凯文之初,她就致力于将朝阳凯文打造成一所帮助父母成长的学校。


这也是今天的父母们和过去传统的父母的不同之处,年轻的爸爸妈妈们已经不仅仅满足于简单地陪伴孩子的成长。


04

认知课程,成就成长


父母是各行业的翘楚,学校是国际教育的领航员。深度认知国际课程将有助于家长进行更优质的陪伴,更有效的支持孩子。基于此,朝阳凯文推出凯文幸福课和家长工作坊等活动。


学校在20-21学年第二学期举办了八期家长工作坊,助力家长成为成长型父母,为孩子成长提供最有力、最直接的支持。

A special event – Kaiwen Family Letter

Home letter is a bridge to connect the emotions of loved ones. The tradition of writing family letter has a long history for thousands of years, but it has gradually drifted away in recent years, even getting out of people’s sight.


CKWA planned a family letter poetry recitation activity in February, with the intention of giving pupils the chance to relive and experience the familiar fine sentiments back to the letter time and feel the power and affection of “family root”.

 

In the form of letter, pupils write down the words that they want to say to their parents, the elders, or the country. All family members are encouraged to participate. Once the work is handed in, all the primary Chinese teachers will score and finally select the outstanding ones. These winners will be awarded on the primary school assembly.

 

Learning Chinese is not only about language, but also self-identifying


In this family letter activity, our pupils opened up their minds and well expressed through writing, tightening the bond between themselves and their motherland.


Wang Jingyu’s father, who won the first prize in G4 group, in his home letter wrote to his son, “Today’s burden rests not on others, but wholly on our young generation. Our wisdom is our country’s wisdom, our might is our country’s might, encouraging the young generation that only if they study hard can the country progress.


Another pupil, Lisa, wrote a home letter to her parents and thanks the medical workers who fought against the Covid-19 virus. The immature writing thanked the medical workers for their selfless dedication and great love, and she is proud of being born as Chinese.

Children’s future should have more possibilities, and the definition of success should be more open and diverse. CKWA does not blindly play the international card, but on the basis of knowledge teaching, attaches great importance to strengthen mother language education and root culture, cultivate critical thinking ability, creativity, aesthetic appreciation, interdisciplinary ability, and practical problem-solving skills. Only by being planted in this beneficial and rich soil will students have the inner drive and responsible sense to learn for the unknown future, to explore for further sight, and to work hard for real meaning.

Whether for a child or a parent, the family letter activity provided them with a platform for communication and to speak out what they had never said to each other.
