Cloud Graduation Ceremony

Three online advancement and graduation ceremonies happen in the last week on the school calendar.

Three ceremonies in different format, touching or formal or active… We try to use a ceremony to celebrate the growth of students for every of their learning stage.

Let’s look back at the bright spots of the autography book of the youth in 2019-20 school year.

Bright Spot One

High quality graduation ceremony just as planned

Since February, teachers have been conceiving and designing the G12 graduation ceremony. The fabric, sample and the design of the graduation gown, the photo-shooting location, the props for photo-shooting, the online and offline graduation work exhibition of the arts class, the procedure of the ceremony, the guests needed to be invited, the editing and printing of the diploma…There are so many details that have to be redesigned because of the repetitiveness of the epidemics.

Although the G12 graduates cannot attend the ceremony in person, teachers have tried their best to present the ceremony as it was planned.

The banner specifically designed for graduation was hang up in the theatre. Flowers ordered for the ceremony was set orderly at the venue.

All teachers of the graduation class have sung the song “goodbye” together for all graduates to commemorate the last three years’ time.

In the graduation speech delivered by Principal Xu, she said, “in the three years, the company of teachers moved us. We appreciate the changes on every graduate, and sigh at the fast passing time. The future is unknown, but the future of the first batch of graduates is written to be splendid, because you have overcome more difficulties and passed more tests than others. CKWA will always be your home. We look forward to your return.”

Bright Spot Two

Speech from the parent representative, Prof Sun Wei from the Central Academy of Fine Arts

The report card of the first batch of arts class graduates made us proud. They take CKWA as the starting point, and get recognized by the world gradually, moving towards a bigger arena and becoming true global citizens.

When children step into the next stage of their life, the happiest people are their parents. It was them who plucked up courage to choose such a new school for children. No matter it is happiness or setbacks, parents always accompany them. Today, it is their turn to enjoy the joy.

Prof. Sun Wei from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, as parent representative, shared with the whole Kaiwen community on the ceremony:

“From the perspective of parents, we would like to first congratulate our kids on their graduation. This is a turning point in their life. Our children are becoming adults. They have chosen to study abroad and to live independently. This is a responsibility that you must shoulder in the life.

Here, I would like you to remember two points. First, I hope you will have belief and dream forever. Only when there is morality and constraints can you be empowered on the path of growth, no matter you wave your wings or run on your foot.

Second, I hope you always have striving spirit. Be practical, be wise in identifying the truth and be capable in obtaining resources. Be responsible, be persistent, be expressive and be creative.

I hope you don’t waste your time and live other’s life. Fight for your honor. Work hard for your dignity and shoulder your responsibility.”

Bright Spot Three

The Advancement Ceremony of the Little Demoiselle Cranes

This week, the school carefully prepared two advancement ceremonies for R class and G5 class. Children may not have realized what advancement means to them. Perhaps it is separation with friends, or more workload. Perhaps they will enter a new stage and a broader world.

On the advancement ceremony of the R class, teachers and kids look back into the precious time of the last year. Children raise their hands innocently, asking teachers whether they can read reception year again. Seeing their innocence and simplicity, the whole years’ commitment of teachers is worthwhile.

On the advancement ceremony of G5, the leadership team and all homeroom teachers get together offline to send their best wishes to every demoiselle crane. Mr. James, who oversees secondary school now, has also come to the G5 Advancement ceremony to introduce the incoming secondary life.

This year, they learnt dancing, performed musical and memorized many new words. Their research is deepening, and their sense of aesthetics keeps improving. They not only accumulate knowledge, but also learn respects and morality.

The demoiselle crane on the school uniform embodies adaptability, courage and persistence. We hope our students soar in the wider world like demoiselle cranes, and never give up.

This is your day. You deserve such a day.
