迎新年丨记朝阳凯文小学部“中国传统文化探究周”

从凯文出发,向世界奔跑


千门万户曈曈日,总把新桃换旧符

新年的脚步越发临近了,朝阳凯文校园内处处洋溢着浓厚的节日氛围。为了让这份欢乐更深刻、更有意义,朝阳凯文小学部在学期的最后一周精心策划了一场别开生面的“中国传统文化探究周”活动。


每个年级分别以独特的方式,带领孩子们在课堂上穿越历史,深入了解中华文化的博大精深。孩子们沉浸在一片浓厚的传统文化氛围中,同学们忙碌地准备着,彩纸、贺卡、装饰品在手中灵动地舞动,每个班级都犹如一座小小的博物馆,向同学们传递着千百年来传承的精髓。


小学文化探究周期间,正值IB国际课程项目学生们的“职业体验周”,许多大哥哥大姐姐都来到小学部,深入班级,体验作为一名小学教师的日常工作。



学前班

学前班的小娃娃们,以小组合作的形式,将春节习俗融汇在数学、语文、英语、科学这四门学科当中,在讲解春节起源、习俗、庆祝方式的同时,也锻炼了娃娃们的思考和动手能力。

一年级

龙年,就要了解中国的龙文化。从龙的形象、寓意、以及起源与传说,都深深地让孩子们着迷。课堂上,孩子们和老师一起制作了龙年挂件、龙灯,以及学习了简单的剪纸技巧,创作与龙相关的剪纸作品。

二年级

二年级为学生们准备了“中国神话”主题活动,引导学生了解中国神话中的英雄人物,选取神话中蕴含的孝顺、仁爱、诚实等道德教育元素,从而传递正面的价值观。孩子们佩戴自己亲手制作的龙头套,用英文表演戏剧、悬挂新年桃符、从河图洛书中了解到数学的奥秘……

三年级

三年级的探究周主题是“中国戏剧”,学生们听老师讲解了戏剧的发展史,DIY戏剧中象征着不同身份和地位的人物头饰,同时也学习到脸谱中不同色彩代表了不同的人物性格,并选取和勾勒了自己喜爱的人物脸谱。

四年级

四年级的同学们在老师的带领下学习了中国历史上的伟大人物及故事。学生们分小组制作了“历史人物志”的相关PPT和海报,用思维导图或演讲的形式展示成果,同时与音乐、武术、艺术等其他学科的知识融合,也让学生们多维度地了解到了古代乐器、古代音乐家、武术家等。



五年级

少数民族是中华民族独特的色彩,五年级在这一周探究了少数民族的传统美食、服饰、习俗、重大节日等特色民族文化。





中国传统文化探究周让孩子们在生动有趣的课堂中对中国传统文化有了更深层次的理解,通过亲身参与传统手工艺制作,孩子们的小小手指在创造中迸发着无穷的创意。


这次的活动不仅拉近了学生们与传统文化的距离,更激发了对祖国的热爱和自豪感。愿文化之光,让每个孩子更加珍视这一传承千年的瑰宝。

Welcome the New YearInquiry-based learning on Chinese Tradition at CKWA Primary School



In the last week of the semester, Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy Primary School carefully planned a unique inquiry-based learning activities focusing on Chinese Traditional Culture. Teachers of each grade leads children to travel through history and gain a deeper understanding of the vast and profound Chinese culture in the classroom.


Reception

The reception children, in the form of group cooperation, integrate the customs of the Spring Festival into four subjects, including mathematics, Chinese, English, and science. While explaining the origin, customs, and celebration methods of the Spring Festival, the kids have developed their thinking skills and hands-on abilities.


Grade One

In the Year of the Dragon, one must understand China’s dragon culture. The image, symbolism, and origin of dragons deeply captivate children. In class, the children and the teacher worked together to make dragon pendants, dragon lanterns, and learned simple paper cutting techniques to create paper cutting works related to dragons.


Grade Two

Teachers of Grade Two prepared a “Chinese Mythology” themed activity for the students. The children wore their own handmade dragon headgears, performed plays in English, hung New Year’s peach wood charms, and learned about the mysteries of mathematics from the Hetu Luoshu… During the inquiry-based learning week, it was the “Career Shadowing Week” for the IB DP students. Many big brothers and sisters came to the primary school and participated into the class and experienced the daily work of a primary school teacher.


Grade Three

The theme for Grade three was “Chinese Opera”. The students listened to the teacher’s explanation of the development history of Chinese Opera and DIYed head wears that symbolized different identities and positions in Chinese Opera. They also learned that different colors in facial masks represented different character personalities, and selected and outlined their favorite character facial masks.


Grade Four

Under the guidance of the teacher, Grade Four students learned about great figures and stories in Chinese history. The students are divided into groups to create PPTs and posters related to “Historical Figures”, showcasing their achievements through mind maps or speeches. At the same time, they integrated knowledge from other disciplines such as music, martial arts, and art. These activities allow students to gain a multidimensional understanding of ancient instruments, musicians, and martial artists.


Grade Five

Ethnic minorities are a unique color of the Chinese nation. During this week, fifth grade students explored the traditional cuisine, clothing, customs, major festivals, and other distinctive ethnic cultures of ethnic minorities.


The week spent on inquiry-based learning on Chinese Tradition allows children to have a deeper understanding of Chinese traditional culture in lively and interesting classes. Through hands-on activities in traditional handicraft making, children have shown their infinite creativity in creation.
